VIVA – A reputable expert on infectious diseases affecting the upper respiratory tract, Prof. Zhong Nanshan, predicts that the southern region of China will recover from the COVID-19 pandemic by mid-2023.

Researchers have just completed an assessment of the latest COVID-19 developments. They reminded the importance of preventing the severity caused by the virus by promoting vaccination.
According to Prof. Zhong Nanshan, it usually takes two weeks for the vaccine to work effectively for preventing widespread transmission during the Chinese New Year holiday homecoming season. Professor also thinks the Omicron variant isn’t terrible because 99 percent of cases can be cured within seven to ten days.
By analyzing cases in several major cities in China, Prof. Zhong revealed that the severity of Omicron is less than one percent. However, he warned that the COVID-19 pandemic is not over unless the pathogen is drastically reduced.
